This is my first attempt at blogging for myself. My kitty, Livie, has her own blog. Ha,Ha.
I don't know if it is because I'm getting older, live alone, or just that I sometimes want to let people in my world know what is going on with me or how I feel about some things. I decided that some of what I want to share doesn't need to be on Facebook, so that is why I came up with the idea of blogging.
I will post to Facebook when I have added to my Blog and let my friends and family decide if they want to hear what I have to say.
For today this is just practice in getting my thoughts written down so they, hopefully, sound rational and coherent.
This past week I took the plunge and changed my hairstyle. I went from long, straight hair, usually in a ponytail, to short, curly hair. My first perm in at least 20 years. This was a BIG transition for me as I haven't had my hair this short in more than 20+ years. So far I really like it, and it is so easy to take care of.
Most of my family and friends know of my addiction to Crocheting. I even have an online store at www.ladybugsattic.com. It is a little slow going as I still need to write up the descriptions of my products better so that they will show up in search engines. Eventually my store will have more than just crochet items. I have quite a bit of my Mom's jewelry to find new homes for, and other miscellaneous items.
My biggest challenge in marketing my store is that I have not mastered the art of taking good pictures. I struggle with every picture I take so that the items show favorably. I did get a torso mannequin so that I can display some of the clothing and jewelry better. I think I need to get a wig head so I can take pictures of the headwear that I have been making. I also need something to display the boot cuffs and wrist warmers. Maybe I just need a whole mannequin.
Well enough about crocheting. I will post more on that later.
Livie is sitting on my desk, in front of the monitor. She does this every time I try to get anything done on the computer.
I'm looking forward to the warmer weather. I don't do well emotionally with dreary days as I tend to draw inside of myself more often on those days.
I still have my part time job, and work about 22 hours a week. I work mornings and have the afternoons, Wednesdays, and weekends off. My job will last another 13 months and then I will be fully retired. Looking forward to being able to go visit family anytime I get the notion, instead of having to schedule it around my job responsibilities.
At the end of June I will be going to visit my daughter and her family in Oregon, as well as family in Washington. Would like to try to get in another visit to Arizona in the fall, too.
Well, I think this is enough for this blog. Nothing profound to talk about right now.
For those that will read this blog please take time to enjoy your family and friends. Don't work too hard and lose site of the really important things in life like family, friends, your spiritual walk and being kind to others.
If you would like to make comments I would love to hear them.
